Education

- PhD candidate. February 2005 - present. Macquarie University
- BSc (Hons). 2004. Department of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University

Career History

In November 2003 I completed my BSc at Macquarie University, majoring in aspects of biodiversity and conservation. In 2004, I completed my honours year with a focus in molecular ecology. During the first semester I investigated aspects of the phylogeography and conservation genetics of an Amazonian flooded-forest fish. During the second semester I conducted a preliminary parentage analysis for a population of bottlenose dolphins with the long term goal of optimizing our approach to enable us to answer questions regarding reproductive success and mate choice within this population.
In February 2005 I started my PhD under the supervision of Dr Luciano Beheregaray at Macquarie University. I am now working on the Phylogeography and conservation genetics of wobbegong sharks where I hope to further develop the skills obtained during my honours year and apply these skills to answer questions relevant to wobbegong sharks.
