The appointees will contribute to Professor Westoby’s ARC-funded project on comparative leaf economics and ecological strategies; http://www.bio.mq.edu.au/Ecology/

Applicants must have a degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent.

Preference will be given to applicants with strong research potential as indicated by academic record or past research accomplishments or the opinion of their referees.

Experience in any of botanical fieldwork, identification, morphology, physiology, demography, computing, or evolutionary theory would be an advantage. Ability to prepare research for publication would be well regarded.

Positions are available for a period of one year, and may be offered either full-time or part-time, with the possibility of further appointment subject to funding and satisfactory performance. Applicants should indicate on their application whether they are interested in a full-time or part-time position.

Salary range: Level 5 - $46,108 to $51,998 pa including base salary $38,962 to $43,939 pa, 17% employers’s superannuation and annual leave loading. Pro rata rates apply to part-time employment.
